TURNING KINDNESS INTO A DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
Hug Rocks is a kindness-focused nonprofit that encourages people to paint, share, and discover rocks carrying messages of hope and encouragement.
The website needed to do more than explain the organization's mission. It needed to help people participate, find events, book painting parties, donate, and see how far the movement has traveled.
FEATURES
MAPPING THE RIPPLE EFFECTS
One of the site's most unique features is the Hug Rocks map. I connected a form to the map so that when someone finds a Hug Rock, they can submit information about where they found it, who found it, and a photo. That information can then be represented as a new location on the map.
The result turns individual acts of kindness into a visual representation of the organization's growing reach.
DONATIONS
Supporting the organization needed to be just as simple as learning about its mission. I integrated an online donation system into the website so visitors can easily choose to support Hug Rocks directly from the site. The donation experience is built into the overall design, giving visitors a clear path from discovering the organization's mission to taking action and making a contribution.
